Dr. Norm Poorman
Pediatric Specialist

Dr. Norm Poorman is from Kerrville, TX and attended Abilene Christian University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology; as well as, a Certificate in Missions in 1993.

He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery in 1998 from Baylor College of Dentistry, then a two-year Certificate in Pediatrics from the University of Texas Health Science center in Houston. He is certified in IntraOral Sedation and adheres to high standards of care in his sedation monitoring and emergency equipment. Dr. Poorman is a member of the Texas Dental Association, American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and the American Dental Association.

Dr. Paul Lambert
Board Certified Pediatric Dentist

As a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, Dr. Paul is dedicated to continuing education, evidence-based practices, and adherence to the AAPD Guidelines. His personal philosophy is to develop a relationship that helps establish a dental home, so that each visit can be fun, educational, and prevention focused!

Dr. Paul was born in Los Angeles, CA, grew up in Charlottesville, VA, attended James Madison University, and then moved to Charleston, SC. After college, his first job was as a graduate assistant basketball coach at The Citadel, where he completed two Master’s degrees (Business & Health Administration). While in graduate school, he also helped conduct and write two dental research projects at The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) that were published. Most importantly, during this time, he met and married Erika.

He attended MUSC for dental school where he learned general dentistry, rotated through all the sub-specialties, and earned his Doctorate of Dental Medicine (D.M.D.). After dental school, he focused his education on pediatric dentistry by completing a Pediatric Fellowship at THE Ohio State University and then further completing his Pediatric Residency at the University of Minnesota. During his last year at Minnesota, he was selected to be chief resident.

Some other areas of focus for his pediatric education are: behavior guidance and child psychology, pediatric medicine, restorative dentistry, pulp therapy, growth and development, sedation and general anesthesia, hospital dentistry, dental traumatology, clinical orthodontics, cariology and caries management, infant oral health and dental home, pediatric oral pathology, periodontology, infectious disease, practice management, advocacy and education, and the care of children with cleft, craniofacial anomalies, and special health care needs.

Dr. Paul is an active member of the American Academy of Pediatric DentistryAmerican Dental AssociationAmerican Board of Pediatric DentistryThe Texas Dental AssociationThe Texas Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, and The Southwestern Society of Pediatric Dentistry. He is also credentialed, & appointed Chief of Dental Surgery, at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene.

Dr. Paul joined Children’s Dentistry of Abilene in 2022. Most days you will find him running around the office like a big kid; either telling Dad jokes, purposely confusing Disney stories, or rolling around on his skate shoes….or his new skateboard!

Dr. Paul’s wife, Erika, is the Associate Head Women’s Basketball Coach at Abilene Christian University (“Go Wildcats!”). They have two daughters, Ava & Mya. He enjoys basketball, skiing/snowboarding, swimming, biking, and traveling.
