Children’s Dentistry of Abilene was founded with a simple goal – to create an environment where children feel confident and positive toward dental care. Our team is committed to providing simple, welcoming, and affordable dental care to the families in our community. We provide dental care ranging from routine checkups to restorative work to surgery.
Our entire team specializes in working with children – from our dentist to our dental assistants and office staff. We want our patients to feel like part of our family.

Dr. Norm Poorman
Pediatric Specialist
In 1998, Dr. Poorman received his Doctor of Dental Surgery from Baylor College of Dentistry. He later earned a two-year Certificate in Pediatrics from the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston. Certified in IntraOral Sedation, he maintains high standards in sedation monitoring and emergency equipment. He’s affiliated with the Texas Dental Association, American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, and American Dental Association.

Dr. Paul, born in Los Angeles, CA, grew up in Charlottesville, VA. He completed two Master’s degrees at The Citadel and conducted dental research projects at MUSC. He earned his D.M.D. from MUSC, then specialized in pediatric dentistry at Ohio State University and the University of Minnesota. He’s highly involved in professional organizations and is Chief of Dental Surgery at Hendrick Medical Center. Dr. Paul joined Children’s Dentistry of Abilene in 2022, bringing his expertise and playful demeanor to the practice.
